We are actually having our Sunday Roast because I just couldn't be bothered to do it yesterday.
Once again, I shall be tailoring this week's meals to try and fit with the traditional days of this week.
So, Pancakes tomorrow, naturally!
As I was checking through our Calendar, I wondered if I had forgotten to remind you about the World Marmalade Awards.I had forgotten, but I am not too late.
They take place this weekend - 25th & 26th February - and this year they herald the start of the first ever National Marmalade Week.
I do hope that nobody is giving up Marmalade for Lent.
Speaking of which, do you abstain from anything during Lent?
We don't observe Lent but I do recall giving up sweets during Lent when I was a child... I don't recall how long I lasted!
I've never heard of this before! I look forward to other interesting Days and Weeks during the year.
ReplyDeleteI don't give up anything for Lent. Flighty xx
Ah! So you didn't read my post last year then - haha!
DeleteIt's very rare that we have a Sunday dinner on a Sunday, we usually have our roast on a Monday. There'll be pancakes here tomorrow too, but not for me, I'm on a diet.
ReplyDeleteNine times out of ten, we have ours Monday too. Or, we pop the roast in and then have 'pickings', not a full meal :)
DeleteLove marmalade so happy marmalade day!!I didn't look very closely at your picture and was reading about the roast so I thought the picture was Yorkshire pudding. When i looked closer I saw it was oranges. My wife is from Yorkshire and she struggles to make Yorkshire pudding.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I didn't have a relevant photo for the Collops, so bunged in one of Seville Oranges.
DeleteI guess I shouldn't really be confessing to 'bunging in' a photo?
I'm with your wife, my Yorkshires are dreadful... more like pancakes in fact :)
Hello Mo! So glad to have found you and your blog! Thanks for the comments on my Collop Monday post too.....I have already made several batches of marmalade up this year and my favourite was lemon and ginger. GOOD planning re. roast on Monday by the way!

Hi Karen! Thanks for visiting :) I've never made lemon marmalade, I'm not sure why. Lime marmalade was a favourtie with my dad.
DeleteHaven't given anything up for Lent since I was a child also. I have a couple of friends who give up alcohol for the duration, but w usually go skiing at this time of year and a ski holiday without a lovely warmer-upper at the bottom of the mountain would be just too strange. Thanks for the Pancake Day reminder - I had completely forgotten that.
ReplyDeleteHi! I've never ski-ed (sp?)but I've always fancied the Apres Ski bit ;)
DeleteHope you had some pancakes!
We don't mark Lent but who could resist not celebrating Pancake day? :) I've been sick all week but still managed to whip a batch of them up for lunch yesterday - cheese pancakes for mains then chocolate for desserts.
